Description of an event

Freshmen's reception

Last week, I went to the freshmen´s reception. It was organized with many activities for them.

It started with an activity between freshmen and theirs "godfather" or "godmother". They had to look each other with half part of his or her picture around the campus. Once they got together, they went to the cafeteria to participate in a ceremony.

The ceremony began with a second year student doing standup comedy. Immediately after that, freshmen and second year students talked each other, sharing their experiences in the campus and feelings about this new journey. At the end of the ceremony, the freshmen took pictures with the second year students.

The best thing about the reception was the moment when second year students and freshmen spend time together, sharing and knowing each other.

To conclude, I would say that the freshmen reception was a huge success because both generations could spend time together and everything was perfectly organized.

Second draft of my argumentative essay

Science: The HAARP project

Through the past of the years we have seen an increase of natural disasters on the Earth like earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.
In fact, some of them have been produced by military technology.

Since always we have been told that it is impossible to manipulate nature and that we can not predict when an earthquake is coming or when it is going to rain, but what if this is possible now.

This is the HAARP project and it is located in USA.
Many pictures of the HAARP project can be found in the Internet, documentaries and interviews of scientist who participate in the creation of this weapon and now are against it.

If you search on the Internet, there are proofs of military technologies which can be used to control the weather and to produce earthquakes.

I think it is very hard to believe something like this but if we see all the technology nowadays, it does not sound impossible or crazy.
